My favorite is the quilt made by my great-grandmother for my dad's 5th birthday in 1929 ~ he gave it to me a few years ago! He said he remembers his grandmother quilting and really hated it when a new spool of thread came into the house ~ it was his job to then thread ALL the needles onto the spool so they could just grab a needle and cut off a hunk of thread and start quilting!

My oldest son made a (hideous! HIDEOUS!) dinosaur ornament in junior kindergarten - he painted it mud green and glued a crooked google eye on it. Oh how I love and treasure and safeguard that wondrous ornament! And oh how he grumbles when I carefully unpack it each year, LOL!

My favourite handmade gift would have to be the teacher quilt I made my daughter's kindy teacher.. she retired this year, so we got all the kids in the class to decorate a 6.5" calico square which I then put together with some simple sashing. It turned out beautifully and she was very emotional when I presented it to her at the end of year Kindy concert.
